Dr. Zehavit Kohen

dr zehavit kohenDr. Zehavit Kohen holds a B.Sc degree in mathematics and computer science, and M.A. and Ph.D. Suma Cum Laude in Educational Technology from Bar Ilan University. Her doctoral research focused on promoting professional development of STEM pre-service teachers. During the 2015 academic year, she was a visiting scholar at the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching (CSET) at Stanford University, as part of a post-doctoral research. She acquired expertise in promoting professional development of mathematics teachers, as well as expertise in qualitative analysis methods, in addition to the many years of her experience in teaching statistics and quantitative research courses for B.A. and M.A. students. As from 2012, Dr. Kohen collaborates with Prof. Judy Dori through researches that aim to promote science education. Following Prof. Dori’s fund from the National Institute for Testing and Evaluation, Dr. Kohen and Prof. Dori are currently exploring the trend regarding the long term relationships between STEM studies and choice of STEM professionals in the labor market. In particular, the study investigates disparities based on gender, sector, immigrants compared to those born in the country, educational institutions and residence. The project includes multi-database retrieval of data records from the Central Bureau of Statistics in Israel, and a complex quantitative statistical analysis.
